Chapter 151

Someone who hears about an indecency and then spreads it about

بَابُ مَنْ سَمِعَ بِفَاحِشَةٍ فَأَفْشَاهَا

حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدٍ، قَالَ‏:‏ حَدَّثَنَا بِشْرُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ، قَالَ‏:‏ حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللهِ، قَالَ‏:‏ حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ أَبِي خَالِدٍ، عَنْ شُبَيْلِ بْنِ عَوْفٍ قَالَ‏:‏ كَانَ يُقَالُ‏:‏ مَنْ سَمِعَ بِفَاحِشَةٍ فَأَفْشَاهَا، فَهُوَ فِيهَا كَالَّذِي أَبْدَاهَا‏.‏

English

Shubayl ibn 'Awf said, "It is said, 'Whoever hears something indecent and then spreads it is like the one who originated it.'"
