The permissibility of eating horse meat

باب فِي أَكْلِ لُحُومِ الْخَيْلِ ‏‏

وَحَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ نُمَيْرٍ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبِي وَحَفْصُ بْنُ غِيَاثٍ، وَوَكِيعٌ، عَنْ هِشَامٍ، عَنْ فَاطِمَةَ، عَنْ أَسْمَاءَ، قَالَتْ نَحَرْنَا فَرَسًا عَلَى عَهْدِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم فَأَكَلْنَاهُ ‏.‏
Asma' reported:

We slaughtered a horse and ate it during the lifetime of Allah's Messenger (ﷺ).
