Prohibition of Spying on Muslims and to be Inquisitive about Others

باب النهي عن التجسس والتسمع لكلام من يكره استماعه

Riyad as-Salihin 1571
وعن معاوية رضي الله عنه قال‏:‏ سمعت رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم يقول‏:‏ ‏ ‏‏.‏ حديث صحيح رواه أبو داود بإسناد صحيح‏.‏
"‏إنك إن اتبعت عورات المسلمين أفسدتهم، أو كدت تفسدهم‏"
Muawiyah (May Allah be pleased with him) said:

I heard the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) saying, "If you find faults with Muslims, you will corrupt them."[Abu Dawud].
