What Has Been Related About the Prohibition Of Slapping The Cheeks And Tearing The Clothes During A Calamity

باب مَا جَاءَ فِي النَّهْىِ عَنْ ضَرْبِ الْخُدُودِ، وَشَقِّ الْجُيُوبِ عِنْدَ الْمُصِيبَةِ

حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بَشَّارٍ، حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ سَعِيدٍ، عَنْ سُفْيَانَ، قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي زُبَيْدٌ الأَيَامِيُّ، عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ، عَنْ مَسْرُوقٍ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صلى الله عليه وسلم قَالَ ‏ ‏ ‏.‏ قَالَ أَبُو عِيسَى هَذَا حَدِيثٌ حَسَنٌ صَحِيحٌ ‏.‏
"‏ لَيْسَ مِنَّا مَنْ شَقَّ الْجُيُوبَ وَضَرَبَ الْخُدُودَ وَدَعَا بِدَعْوَةِ الْجَاهِلِيَّةِ ‏"
Abdullah narrated that:

The Prophet said: "He who slaps (his) cheeks, tears (his) clothes and calls with the call of the Jahliyyah is not one of us."
